The District Blue Raspberry Gummy Product Review

Product: Blue Raspberry Indica Gummies
Brand: The District
Total MG per Package (Single Dose): 100mg (10 mg)

Infused Gummy bears are a staple in the world of cannabis edibles. If you ask any consumer about edible products, their first thought is typically between a brownie or a pack of gummies. With them being so popular, there are various different types with different flavors to purchase. Despite the flavoring, (with some brands that can be hit-and-miss) the potency itself is the deciding factor for consumers. Gummy bears are great for sharing your medicated experience but many lack the proper execution methods to create a potent but still tasty edible in gummy form.
So this week, we reviewed The District’s Blue raspberry Indica gummies to see just how well they actually work. The District prides themselves on their method of infusing gummies that differs from other brands. The CO2 extracted oil, from OrganaLabs, is fused with the edibles that are still gluten-free but, the recipe doesn’t use a vegan recipe like many others. They do, however, still use gelatin in their recipe to stay consistent with the traditionally feeling of gummies. The edibles are also not as sweet or sugar-coated like many others. The sugar counts at only 3 grams per serving and only 10 calories of fat per serving. They boast that their “made-from-scratch” and “fully-activated” edibles will leave you feeling truly spacey. So without further ado, let’s begin.

Taste Test

Anyone who has ever tried an infused-gummy before knows that the taste is one of the hardest things to get right. With infused products that typically have a distinct order to go along with it, texture from oil can be manipulated as well. This can lead to the gummy and wax coating the inside of your mouth. I don’t think I have to tell you how weird that feels.
It was a nice surprise to not have those problems with the District’s gummies. The texture wasn’t perfect but much better than that of some other gummy producers. The taste was a stroke of luck on my end. Many reviews online suggest that only a few of the flavors lack a strong cannabis odor. The blue raspberry that I tried seems to counteract the cannabis flavoring. I could still taste and smell the cannabis but the sweet and sour taste of the flavors helped make the experience enjoyable. When shopping for this brand, I would give some thought to it. What flavors do you think would counter the cannabis and which would you rather have lined the inside of your mouth for the next few minutes.

Potency Test

I consumed 4 gummies to equal 40mg. A lot of consumers used them for pain relief so I tried them for myself. I had a small headache so I decided to use them to possible aid in that. I choose not to smoke as well to see how effective they were with pain relief. The effects were slow starting and took the full two hours to fully feel “medicated”. The aches didn’t go away immediately but I did feel much loftier than before. As two more hours passed, I did gain a slight couch lock and short-term memory loss.
As my mind stopped functioning properly, I ended up in bed.
The only reason I even got up from bed was the intense cotton-mouth I woke up with. After a dealing with that, I was right back out again in a matter of minutes. No headache in sight.

The Verdict

Gummies are pretty hit and miss for me, usually because of the taste and texture alone. The District did a great job curbing those problems with their easy-to-chew and perfectly flavored product. I would recommend these for people who don’t consume edibles often and are looking to share the experience. They provide light anti-inflammatory relief but for anything more severe, you may have to consume the whole package. The dose is perfect for a beginner user but, anyone else might end up eating half of the package to get effects from the product. If you are a fan of gummies, however, the flavoring is enough to make me suggest them. Just make sure you don’t break the packaging.
