For a wonderful anti-aging combination that is easy to make and doesn’t call for a long list of essential oils, try this mixture of Apricot Kernel, Rosehip Seed, and Carrot Seed oils.
You Will Need:
- 1/2 cup Apricot Kernel oil
- 20 – 25 drops each of Carrot Seed oil and Rosehip Seed oil
How it’s done:
- Combine oils in storage jar of your choice and shake vigorously until combined. That’s it!
Mixing & Usage Tips
– When mixing oils, try pouring about half of your carrier oil(s) into the storage container followed by the listed amounts of essential oils. Then finish by topping off your storage container with the remaining carrier oil(s). This way you’re sure to always have room for all of the essential oils called for by each recipe.
– When pouring oils into storage containers, remember to leave a little space in the top of the bottle. This will allow the oils to breathe.
– Always be gentle when mixing essential oils. Forceful motion such as vigorous shaking or rapid stirring can easily damage the delicate organic compounds which give your essential oils their wonderful healing properties. Also, avoid exposing your blends to excessive heat or light as this will often change the chemical composition of the oils or cause them to oxidize and spoil faster. (For this reason, I recommend using amber colored glass bottles for storage of oil blends.)
– When handling essential oils, ceramic or glass tools are highly recommended. (Plastic is okay in a pinch, but avoid contact with metals entirely!)
– When using essential oils for skin care, remember that a little bit goes a long way. Just a few drops of each of these blends, for example, would be enough to moisturize your entire face.
– Please note that not all essential oils are safe for use by women who are pregnant or nursing. Some oils contain organic compounds which are safe for use by adults in small amounts, but that may harm infants and small children. If you are pregnant or nursing, it is always recommended to consult with a medical professional before using essential oils or any other natural remedies.
– Finally, always remember to perform an allergy test before applying any essential oils or carrier oils to large areas of the body. Simply apply a drop or two to the back of the hand and wait several hours (not all reactions occur immediately) to check for any adverse effects.
